Project: Martello Tower

The recent refurbishment of a historic building in Dalkey, undertaken by BA Steel Fabrication Ltd bringing the new and exciting Corten steel to marry with the historical silver granite building that has stood the test of time. The design team at BA Steel Fabrication produced an amazing cladding detail to the roof, including guttering, down pipes, fixing detail plates and perforated steps. Connecting the new building to meet the old tower the bespoke Corten steel staircase was finished with perforated steps, vertical bespoke balustrade and detailed connection plates. This was finished with a hardwood oak handrail. A true work of art and craftsmanship by both Longlife Structures and BA Steel Fabrication Ltd, bringing this amazing building alive, to stand another 200 years of time with all its history intact.
